Something New for 2012
The Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum, just 3.5 miles from town, is unquestionably a destination whether you are biking, hiking or simply driving there along the Polpis Road.  This year, in an effort to enhance your visit, we have created a new picnic area, atop a knoll on the south side of the museum. So, pack a picnic or a snack and take the time to enjoy breathtaking views of Folgers Marsh while enjoying this generous gift from Robert E. Landreth.

Getting There

The Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum is located at 158 Polpis Road, just 3.5 miles from Nantucket Town.  The museum is easily reached by car, public transportation: the Wave, Nantucket Regional Transit Authority/Polpis Route or by the Polpis Bike Path.
